Ivan Fujihara, Chair Mr. Fujihara has more than 20 years experience in corporate finance, with roles as CFO, Corporate Controller and Financial Analyst. Currently he is the CEO of SIFF Investment Services, LLC, a Real Estate Advisory firm in San Francisco. Previously he was General Manager and CFO of the THX Ltd., and also worked with Creative Labs, Netgravity and Verifone. He has operated his own small tax business since 1985. Ivan has a BS degree from the University of Hawaii and an MBA in Corporate Finance from Golden Gate University. He is an Advisory Board Member of Golden Gate University School of Business.
Wendall Mitchell, Vice Chair Mr. Mitchell has practiced as a Senior Real Estate Counsel at Safeway Inc. since 2000, following sixteen years in private practice, most recently as a partner in the law firm of Gong, Mitchell, Combs and Lee, LLP. Mr. Mitchell’s current practice focuses on real estate acquisitions, dispositions, leasing and management. Mr. Mitchell is a member of several bar associations, serves on the boards of non-profit corporations, is Chair of the Oakland Civil Service Board, and is active in numerous community activities. He is the proud husband of a Superior Court Commissioner and father of two college-aged children.
Diana Netherton, Vice Chair Diana has served in a variety of child advocacy roles for over 30 years, beginning with child mental health and early intervention services in the 1970's and 1980's, hospital-based pediatric services in the 1990's, and health care administration in the new millennium. Her leadership roles have included management of hospital-based neonatal and pediatric services, pediatric specialty community clinics and special needs services in California and Montana; health system strategic planning, business development and marketing; and Maternal-Child population health. Additionally, Diana served as Chief Nursing Executive for St. Luke's Hospital in San Francisco, a critical safety-net medical center in the Mission District. Currently, Diana serves as Director of General Pediatric and Pediatric Subspecialty Services for The Permanente Medical Group (Kaiser Permanente) in Oakland and the East Bay. She earned her undergraduate degree in Developmental Psychology from San Francisco State University, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Samuel Merritt (St. Mary’s College) in Oakland, and a Master of Science in Administrative Medicine from the School of Medicine, Preventative Health, University of Wisconsin, Madison. Previous Board commitments include Ronald McDonald House Charities and the United Way. Diana believes that every child should have our full attention – in our homes, our schools, our communities and our hearts.
Melanie Shelby, Secretary
Melanie M. Shelby is a long-time Oakland advocate. Melanie served on the Oakland Housing Authority and Health and Human Services Commission, Board of Directors of the Oakland Museum of Children’s Art (MOCHA), Education Advisory Board for United Way of the Bay Area, and is a graduate of the 2000 “Leadership Oakland” class. Recently, Melanie was appointed to Oakland’s Measure Y Oversight Committee which evaluates crime prevention programs funded through a local parcel tax. Melanie was also instrumental in creating the inaugural Women’s History Month Breakfast held in March 2011 by Oakland Women Business Leaders.
Three years ago, Melanie left a lucrative career in energy where she amassed significant executive experience in all aspects of public affairs to launch Gray, Greer, Shelby & Vaughn LLC. GGSV is an advocacy firm that specializes in supplier diversity, government relations, outreach and strategic partnerships. The firm develops tailored business solutions that help corporations and small businesses navigate complex legislative and regulatory environments. Most recently, GGSV worked with Comcast Corporation on the NBC/Universal merger.
Melanie has a love for politics and ran twice for local office. She is an active member at First African Methodist Episcopal Church in Oakland and a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles.
Paul Roma, Treasurer Paul is a native to the Bay Area, having grown up in the East Bay and received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Cal State University East Bay. His professional experience includes extensive experience in corporate finance with roles in business taxes, financial planning and analysis, and business intelligence. Over the years he has participated in a number of community activities and organizations, both in volunteer and leadership capacities. Paul is a graduate of the Alameda County Leadership Academy and have served on the boards of the San Francisco Soccer Development Corporation and the San Leandro Sports Foundation. He is a resident of San Leandro and is the proud dad of one daughter, Jessica.
Simon Parmett Mr. Parmett is an experienced industry executive with over twenty years experience across multiple product-driven markets, from high tech and consumer products to life sciences, healthcare and financial services. Mr. Parmett is currently Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Mulesoft Inc, a San Francisco based software company, which provides industry leading infrastructure solutions to its global customers. While with Agile Software and Oracle, Mr. Parmett was instrumental in defining today's vision for how products are innovatively designed and brought to market. Most recently, he held leadership positions in both Sales and Marketing and most recently was General Manager of Oracle's Asia Pacific, PLM practice. Mr. Parmett built on this background as both a Managing Director with SG Partners and as a Senior Consultant with CSC Index, a leading consulting and systems integration firm focused on technology strategy and business re-engineering. Mr. Parmett holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
Mark Ramin Mark has over 12 years of experience in corporate finance and accounting in various finance roles. He currently works at Life Technolgies, a biotech company in Foster City, as Sr. Finance Manager supporting a $600M Sequencing Division. He previously worked at McKesson Pharmaceuticals and had gained international work experience as R&D controller at Nokia Networks in Finland. Previous to Nokia, Mark worked as Accounting Manager for Metric Sales in Hayward. He received his B.S from San Jose State University in 1994 in Environmental Engineering and received his MBA from College of Notre Dame in Belmont in 1999. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis and learning Spanish.
Ruth Ormsby Ms. Ormsby moved from Philadelphia to attend Stanford University. She received her Masters in Social Work from Columbia University and moved back to the bay area to dedicate her career to working on child mental health issues. She began her career as a Psychiatric Social Worker in San Francisco, was the director of Intake at Lincoln Child Center, worked with the county of Alameda and became the Program chief for the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services for Contra Costa County. Ms. Ormsby is now semi-retired and consulting with the Center for Mental Health Services (part of SAMSHA) evaluating grant sites across the country to assure the appropriate implementation of Children's System of Care principles. Ms. Ormsby loves tennis and skiing and is actively learning to play golf. She was two wonderful nephews and is looking forward to being a great aunt.
Steven Roland
Steve Roland is a practicing attorney and senior partner with Sedgwick LLP, an international trial and business law firm, where he has focused on real estate and commercial trial work and litigation for over 28 years. Steve represents clients ranging from individuals to regional companies to Fortune 500 corporations. He has served in management positions in the Firm for 15 years. Steve has a Bachelor's degree from Cornell University, cum laude, and a law degree from the University of San Francisco. Steve is married to Karen, a civil engineer, and has three children, Elizabeth and Kyle, who are in college, and Jackie, who is in middle school.
David de Figueiredo
Mr. de Figueiredo is a Senior Vice President for Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., and the Chief Credit Officer for Wells Fargo Practice Finance. He is responsible for all aspects of Credit Risk, Operational Risk and Compliance. Mr. de Figueiredo joined the company in 2002. Prior to the acquisition of Greater Bay Bank by Wells Fargo, he was Chief Credit Officer for the Specialty Finance Division of Greater Bay Bank (which included Matsco (now Wells Fargo Practice Finance), Prior to joining Greater Bay Bank, he held various Credit and Risk positions with other banks and other Wells Fargo lines of business. Mr. de Figueiredo has more than 30 years experience working in the financial services industry. He is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley.
Heather Martinez Zona
Heather Martinez Zona is the daughter of former Lincoln CEO/President Mary Ann McKale. Having "grown up" at Lincoln, Ms. Zona remains committed to Lincoln's mission. Ms. Zona currently works with children in foster care in San Francisco and is an attorney. Prior to returning to California Ms. Zona practiced law in New York City where she was also President of the New York Women's Bar Association. In her free time, Ms. Zona plays soccer on many teams throughout the Bay Area. Ms. Zona is a graduate of Williams College and the University of Michigan Law School.
